Women’s Program Admissions Process

1. Call or visit the Teen Challenge intake office to determine if you or your loved one qualifies to be admitted into Teen Challenge at Brooklyn, NY. Applicants for the Brooklyn center must be at least 17 years old

Our staff will assist you in making a referral for other options if you or your loved one does not qualify to enter our program.

Click here for information on contacting Teen Challenge intake office.

2. Fill out an application for the Teen Challenge women’s program. Click here to download the application for the women’s program. You can also write or call to receive a copy of the application. Click here for contact info.

Please note—you cannot use an application from another Teen Challenge program to apply for the women’s program at Brooklyn, NY. Each center requires their own application be used.

3. After your application has been completely filled out and submitted to the Teen Challenge intake office, our staff will review your application and schedule an interview. This interview can be done in person or by phone. If after one week, you have not heard from Teen Challenge to schedule your interview, please call the intake office.

You can come for a visit without an appointment, but we recommend you schedule an appointment to minimize your waiting time, if you wish to speak to the intake staff.

4. During the interview, the intake staff will explain in more detail the Teen Challenge residential program. The staff will need to speak directly to the individual seeking to enter the program.

5. Some medical tests are required before you can enter the Teen Challenge residential program. The intake staff will provide you with a written list of those tests.

6. If you are approved for entry into the program, the intake staff will schedule a date for your entry into the program. If you fail to arrive at Teen Challenge at your scheduled admissions time, your bed may be given to another applicant, and you may be required to schedule another entry date.

Individuals wishing to enter the program must have a scheduled date for admission.

7. Family members are invited to come and visit the program before your relative enters the program. You are also welcome to accompany your relative the day she enters the program. For the first 30 days a new resident is in the program, there is a blackout on phone calls and visits. Family members are allowed to correspond by mail (no email). Residents in the Teen Challenge program are not allowed to have cell phones. All family visits are supervised by staff.
