Born in Puerto Rico, raised Spanish Harlem, New York City. Entered Teen Challenge Brooklyn New York February 1964 and accepted Christ as Lord and Savior. Graduated from the Teen Challenge Training Center, Rehrersburg, Pennsylvania, April 1965. I came from the streets of Spanish Harlem without goals or purpose in life. One night Nicky Cruz spoke to me about Jesus in the streets of Harlem and it changed my life forever. The counseling and guidance that I received at the Training Center changed my life. They cared about what happened to me. They took me out of the city to the hills of Pennsylvania and to a place where I felt secure and accepted. This was the most significant time of my life. It gave me precious time to grow in my faith.
From Teen Challenge Training Center I went on to get my G.E.D., Bachelor of Science Degree from Southwestern University in Waxahachie, Texas and a Masters of Divinity from Fuller Theological Seminary, Pasadena, California. Upon graduation in 1976 I entered the United States Army as a Military Chaplain. Served three tours in Germany, then on to Saudi Arabia, Iraq and Kuwait during Desert Shield and Desert Storm, Albania, Macedonia and Kosovo. I retired with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel on April 30 2002 with 26 years of service as a United States Army Chaplain.
In May of 2005 my wife and I will be celebrated our 36th wedding anniversary. We have three children, John Brock 26 years old in the Air Force, twin girls, Jennifer graduated from North Central University in Minneapolis currently in China for two years and Susan who is currently attending Seminary in Springfield, Missouri.
It is through the ministry of Teen Challenge that all this has been possible for me. When I was young and desperately needed help, they were there, as they have been for countless others through the years. I thank God for Dave Wilkerson whose vision it was from the beginning and for all those who have followed and served in the ministry of this miraculous work.
