Procedure for Admissions
Our goal at Teen Challenge Inc. is to help make the application and induction process as easy as possible. Listed below are a few simple steps that will help guide you in the application process. Teen Challenge Inc. is here to help you begin the process of dealing with life controlling problems.
STEP 1 Simply download the FORMS:
STEP 3 Contact the admissions office. Be prepared to honestly and candidly answer some serious questions about your life, your health, your family, and your legal situation during a pre-screening. You may be asked to make an appointment for a personal interview.
Step 4 Make an appointment with your doctor and take care of the medical test requirements. If you don't have a doctor you must find a walk in or free clinic in your area that is able to perform the needed tests. If there are no available clinics in your area feel free to contact us at Teen Challenge Inc. and we will help direct you to a clinic here in the Brooklyn area.
Step 5 Read over what you bring and what not to bring and pack accordingly. Please note we have limitd space so please bring only what you need. Your clothing should fit into two medium sized suitcases.
Out-of-State Applicants For those who are applying from out-of-state, the interview process can be done over the phone. Simply fax or mail us the application and then call to set up an over the phone interview. Once the interview is complete, we will be able to make an assessment as to whether or not Teen Challenge is right for you. Please note Teen Challenge does not offer a clinical drug or alcohol assessment. Our assessment is made through questions created specifically for the Teen Challenge program and it not applicable to assessments required by the court system. If you have any other questions about the application process feel free to give us a call. We will be glad to help you in any way that we can.

Admission & Enrollment Tips
MEDICAL – The completed Health Screening Form is required before you can enter the TCB program. If you are unable to pay for your medical tests, there are many avenues to have these done at little or no cost. A Help Card is available from each campus to assist you with finding clinics in the surrounding area.
INDUCTION FEE – The $450 induction fee will need to be discussed before program entry. While this fee does not pay for your entire stay at TCB, it is necessary to help defray the initial costs during your first few weeks here.
RESIDENCY AVAILABILITY – Open beds are made available to new students on a first-come / first-served basis. If we are full, you may be placed on the waiting list. You must demonstrate a firm desire to come by having your Health Screening done and sent to our office, as well as by completing an interview.

Practical Advice
If you are struggling with alcohol or drug addiction, or any other life-controlling problem, remove yourself from that environment. Easier said than done, right? But, if you are really serious about changing your life, you are going to need to do everything you can to stay away from alcohol and drugs, and away from the people that use them. That temptation is always going to be there, but for now you need to get as far away from it as possible until you build your strength to resist it.
You are also going to need to find other people who are willing to help you and support you in your decision to change your life. Have you burned a lot of bridges getting to where you are today? God can restore those relationships, but it's not going to happen overnight. Find the courage to tell others about your decision, and you will find someone that agrees and wants to help you.

Five Things You Can Do Today
- PRAY Don't ever underestimate the power of prayer. When you pray, you are establishing a relationship with God that will endure through the good days and the bad days.
- READ THE BIBLE The Bible is God's Word that has been given to us all. Its contents are simple and deeper than you could ever imagine, and will help you in times of struggle. Reading the Bible gives you new insight on this world and the problems we all face.
- SEEK FELLOWSHIP Spending time with other Christians is an important part of the growing process in general, and is a great way to get some advice on the personal things you have going on in your life right now.
- WRITE DOWN YOUR PLAN You need to map out your game plan on paper. If you are really going to change your life, you must have a plan! These plans may change, but you need to have a plan to follow when you hit a weak point.
- FOLLOW PRACTICAL ADVICE Carefully consider the suggestions of Christian friends. Though the goals in your plan may not happen right now, they need to be a part of your plan.
